What is News/Examining News Assignment

Now that you have a base concept on what is news, let’s start examining what news is through one web site. In the assignment for Wednesday, 10.26/Thursday, 10.27, students will look at the Oregonian online (Oregonlive.com) and find fifteen (15) stories from various sections of the digital newspaper. Monday/Tuesday assignment: One of the biggest questions when dealing with journalism is what exactly constitutes news?

This assignment will attempt to lay the groundwork for what news is. We will be working on this beginning Friday, October 21st through Thursday, October 25th.
